The Electro-Voice ZLX-15P G2 is the second generation of EV’s immensely popular ZLX series of portable powered loudspeakers. It is a 15-inch, 2-way speaker designed to offer professional-grade audio quality, high output, and an extremely versatile feature set for mobile entertainers, bands, rental houses, and fixed installations.

The “G2” designation represents significant upgrades in power, DSP control, and connectivity over the first-generation model.

Advanced Control and Connectivity (Powered by Dynacord)

The biggest enhancement in the ZLX G2 series is the complete overhaul of the back-panel electronics and control features:

• Integrated 4-Channel Digital Mixer: Features a built-in digital mixer with two main XLR/TRS combo inputs and a dedicated 1/4′ Hi-Z input for direct connection of guitars or other instruments (no DI box needed).

• Phantom Power: The mixer provides +24V phantom power on its combo inputs, allowing you to connect condenser microphones directly.

• High-Resolution DSP: The onboard Digital Signal Processing (DSP) is powered by Dynacord (EV’s sibling brand) and is highly sophisticated, including:

  • 30 Digital Effects (FX): Features high-quality Reverb, Chorus, and Delay.

  • Automatic Feedback Suppression (AFS): Helps eliminate feedback instantly.

  • Ducker: Automatically lowers background music when a microphone signal is detected (ideal for public speaking or announcements).

  • PEQ/GEQ: Provides 3-band input EQ and 7-band graphic/parametric output EQ for fine-tuning the sound.

  • System Presets: Tailored modes for various applications (Music, Live, Speech, Club, and FRFR – Full Range, Flat Response, which is ideal for guitar modeling processors).

• Larger Color LCD: A new, larger, full-color LCD screen and a single rotary encoder provide intuitive control over all mixer and DSP settings.

   

📲 Wireless Features

• QuickSmart Mobile App: Allows for complete wireless configuration, control, and monitoring of the mixer and DSP functions using an iOS or Android device.¹⁵ You can group and link up to six ZLX G2 speakers.

• Bluetooth Streaming: Supports Bluetooth audio streaming for background music.

• True Wireless Stereo (TWS): Allows two ZLX G2 speakers to be wirelessly paired together for a stereo audio setup.

   

📐 Versatility and Design

• Multi-Position Design: The cabinet is designed for versatile placement: pole-mounted, on a tripod, or used as a stage monitor with a steep 55\circ angle. The 15” model also features a 23 circ “kick-back” angle for a more vertical standing projection.

• SST Waveguide: EV’s patented Signal Synchronized Transducers (SST) waveguide ensures consistent, even coverage across the audience area and enhances bass response.
